This tragic event took place at the new campus controlled by Diamond Ranch Academy. The unnamed boy (Some sorces state Jake Spencer - others Matthew Loebach) moved into Diamond Ranch Academy in June, 2013. September 8, 2013 the school was busy with a football game. The boy managed to sneak into the showers.

He was discovered by an employee who were in the process of showing parents how good the school are. When the boy was discovered the employee closed the door into the showers in a hurry so the parents who were potential customers did not see anything. He quietly alerted other employees but it was too late.

The school received criticism for setting up the bathroom so hanging was a possibility.

The parents later sued the school because the school had promised 24/7 supervision.

It is sad that such a yong life was cut short. This is what could happen when promises by treatment facilities are not met.

Unknown - 2013

A unnamed 14 year old boy being placed at the Grandfather Home for Children downed in Banner Elk.

His death seems to have been accidential. Could the school have watched better out for him? Maybe.

However it is not to know. He could have slipped within seconds and if one person is in the cold fast running river there is not a chance so save him. It is a wooden area and it is hard to keep sight of everyone. The school took a little too long to alarm the authorities but it is doubtful whether it would have any difference due to the nature of this river.

May he find rest where he is now.

Paige Elizabeth Lunsford - 2013

Paige Elizabeth Lunsford was a severe autistic girl aged only 14 when she was transferred to Carlton Palms Educational Center because her old group home could not handle this girl who was unable to speak due to her illness.

Ten days she lasted before she died after having been strapped down to a bed. She wore soft helmet, face mask and arm splints to prevent her from injuring herself.

She was vomiting. Still they didn't take her to a hospital where she could be treated. Instead they strapped her to a bed. Five days and night took it before she died. It was not a nice way to go.

The facility is now being investigated. It was far from the first incident involving Carlton Palms Educational Center.

But for Paige Elizabeth Lunsford it was the last. She died aged only 14.

Joseph Winters - 2013

14 year old Joseph Winters died within a day after having arrived at Rose Rock Academy in Oklahoma City.

The employees stated that he had to be restrained. Why is not to be known because the cameras which should have brought evidence to the case just happened to be broke in that very room where he died.

So while the authorities are trying to find out what happen, they will face tough challenges when the evidence isn't to get hold on.

For the family of this poor boy it means that they will never know what caused his death.

It is tragic.
